Furring Strips
Because our exterior walls are all brick, there's no way to put in electric without having conduit showing all over the place. Therefore, we decided to create a "new" wall around the perimeter of the house with furring strips so that 1) the electric will be hidden and 2) we can add much needed insulation to keep those sky high gas bills down.
Once the wire is run and the sockets/switches are in place, we can go ahead and insulate. (We bought a few rolls. Keep in mind the ceilings are over 9 feet high.)
